Purdey Shotguns for auction at Gleneagles

A pair of Purdey shotguns that belonged to Lord Mountbatten are among the items at an auction sale which is getting under way in Perthshire, Scotland. The guns were made for the Earl in 1919 and he had them up to the time of his death in 1979. They are expected to fetch up to £40,000 at the three-day Sotheby’s annual Scottish sale at Gleneagles.
