Richard Whiteleys blazer for charity auction

A blazer and tie worn by the late Countdown host Richard Whiteley is being auctioned for a cancer charity.
Whiteley, who was well known for his love of outrageous ties and jackets, wore the striped clothing while presenting the Channel 4 quiz show.
The items will be auctioned by his partner Kathryn Apanowicz for MacMillan Cancer relief at the 007 Ball in Bedale Hall, North Yorkshire, on Saturday.
Whiteley died in June, aged 61, after an operation for a faulty heart valve.

He had hosted Countdown from its first show in 1982 and over the years was sent hundreds of colourful ties by fans and loyal viewers of the programme.
