Newbury Racecourse Auction 24th Sep
Published September 13th, 2005
Newbury Racecourse will be inviting telephone bids for auction items at its Centenary Ball on Saturday, 24 September, which now looks certain to be a sell-out following a huge demand for tickets.
Almost all of the 600 seats have been reserved for the event which aims to raise in excess of £100,000 for the Berkshire course’s nominated Centenary charities; Racing Welfare, Spinal Injuries Association, Injured Jockeys Fund and the Berkshire Community Foundation (supporting 100 local charities).
The unique array of auction prizes to come under the hammer will be headed by exclusive use of Newbury Racecourse’s Royal Box inclusive of full catering for up to 45 people at either this year’s Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, or on Juddmonte Lockinge Day 2006.
Also among the prestigious items to be auctioned are a VIP trip for two to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with use of a private jet, a set of cherished colours and trips to the Maldives, Coolmore Stud and Oman.
Newbury Racecourse’s Centenary Project Manager, Vanessa Kilgour said, “Many of the auction items represent once-in-a-life-time opportunities and it is important to us to make sure that everyone with an interest has the chance to bid.
“The evening has generated enormous interest locally and throughout the racing community, and we are looking forward to an exceptional event.”
Enquiries regarding the few remaining tickets, which cost £125, and registrations for telephone bids should be made to the Centenary Project Manager, Vanessa Kilgour, on 01635 40015. A full list of auction items is available at www.newbury-racecourse.co.uk.
