BSkyB bids for Flextech

BSkyB, the satellite television group, is understood to be the front-runner in the auction of Flextech, the content arm of Telewest, the UK cable group.

A long list of broadcasters and private equity groups put in their indicative offers this month for the company, which owns UKTV, a 50/50 joint venture with the BBC, digital channel Living TV and shopping channel Sit-Up TV.
