More than £3 million worth of Scottish artwork is to go on display ahead of a major sale.

Pictures on public view include works by Sir William MacTaggart, Sir Henry Raeburn, Anne Redpath, Sir John Lavery and Jack Vettriano, as well as all four of the Scottish Colourists.

Leading the sale are four works painted by the two most prominent artists of the Scottish Colourist movement: Samuel John Peploe and FCB Cadell.

The pictures will be on public view before going under the hammer at Christie’s annual Scottish Sale at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Thursday.
