Titanic souvenirs for Children in Need
Published November 14th, 2005
A BBC Northern Ireland journalist is auctioning off three remarkable souvenirs from his dive to the final resting place of the Titanic for Children in Need.
Environment correspondent Mike McKimm travelled 12,850 feet to the wreckage lying in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, getting a fascinating glimpse of the ill-fated liner.
He put a number of polystyrene cups in a net which was trailed outside the Russian submersible on his voyage to the wreckage.
There are a number of ways you can try to get your hands on the three Titanic cups and baseball caps:
Listen to the George Jones show on BBC Radio Ulster from 3-5pm each day from Monday until Children in Need day on Friday, and bid by calling 08459 555 687
Listeners to the radio programme with digital satellite tuning in from outside Northern Ireland can access the programme via channel 868 or through the website: bbc.co.uk/northernireland/radioulster
Alternatively log on to the Great Big Bid website, in association with eBay, on: bbc.co.uk/greatbigbid where the remaining two cups and caps will be up for auction all week.
