Le Mans AC Cobra For February Auction

An AC Cobra with Le Mans history is up for sale in H&H’s February 2006 sale. Registered 39 PH, the car competed in the 1963 24-hour race where it won the GT III category and came seventh overall. Its sale price is estimated at £700,000-£800,000.
Also up for auction is an EMKA Aston designed by Len Bailey and prepared by Michael Cane Racing for the late Steve O’Rourke, manager of Pink Floyd. In this lot are the original car and a recreation of the Hawaiian Tropic Car which raced in 1983. The estimate for both cars and spares is £180,000-£200,000.
The sale will also feature a 1981 ex-Nigel Mansell Lotus 87B with a host of spares and body moulds, estimated at £240,000-£270,000, and a 1971 ex-Jean-Pierre Beltoise Matra MS120B, complete with new period engine which is expected to fetch £270,000-£320,000.
