eBay fraudster escapes jail

A teenager who conned eBay users out of more than £8,000 while on bail for similar offending has escaped a custodial sentence.
Phillip Shortman, 18, of Cwmbran, South Wales, faced being locked up after pleading guilty to four counts of obtaining property by deception.

A souvenir from a BBC Northern Ireland journalist’s dive to the final resting place of the Titanic has raised £590 for Children in Need.

A Kent pensioner is auctioning a rare first edition Winnie the Pooh book to raise money for charity.
Bill Williamson, 81, from Tunbridge Wells, is selling four old books by Sussex author A.A. Milne including the Winnie the Pooh book published in 1926.

A previously unknown painting by John Constable, discovered in a Japanese collector’s store, has failed to make its reserve at auction.
