George Best replica football shirts auctioned

A number of replica football shirts signed by the late George Best have been auctioned off.
They were part of a huge collection of football memorabilia which went under the hammer in Plymouth on Thursday.
The lots were put to auction by Darron Page who has collected countless items to do with the “beautiful game”.
The sale took place at Plymouth Auction Rooms on Thursday evening and included George Best shirts, pictures and a European Cup programme.
There were 104 lots in the auction, but it was clear it was the George Best lots which captured the most attention.
Auctioneer Paul Keen said although the majority of interest had been from football fans, there had been inquiries from some people who simply want something associated with the great football player who died last week.
