A mahogany clock made by an 18th Century watchmaker is expected to fetch up to £7,000 at an auction in Shrewsbury this week.

The clock, which is the work of celebrated French watchmaker James Tregent, is included in a sale of antiques by Hall’s auctioneers.

Mr Tregent, who settled in England during the reign of George III, was watchmaker to the Prince of Wales.
