Liverpool discount store chain TJ Hughes is the first of its kind in the UK to open an online “shop” on eBay, the world’s top auction site. It follows the October launch of TJs’ first transactional website. TJs’ marketing director, Muriel Stirling, said: “The deal with eBay has been designed to build awareness as well as boost sales. “The amount of internet traffic on eBay is astonishing. With TJ Hughes now live on eBay, our pro file is sure to grow.” She added: “People search for bargains on eBay and offering bargains is at the heart of what TJ Hughes is all about.”
