Drambuie auction exceeds expectations
Tuesday, January 31st, 2006An auction of Scottish art, described as the greatest to come on the market for a quarter of a century, has “exceeded expectations”.
The first day of a sale of items belonging to the MacKinnon family, which owns the whisky liqueur-making firm Drambuie, generated £2.6m.
A still life by Scottish colourist Samuel J Peploe fetched £220,000.
