One John Deas “is selling a can of Heinz baked beans one by one on eBay… and someone has already bid £6 for the first”.
You’d think that for six quid you’d actually get the bean. But no. In a clever way of getting round the mess of having to post said bean to the proud new owner, Deas has hatched a cunning plan .
“I won’t be opening the tin at all. It needs to be preserved and kept in a museum.
“The winning bidders will get a certificate to prove they took part.”
John is doing the honourable thing – in taking advantage of the doolally bidders, he’s giving half of his proceeds to charity.
