Jack Vettriano’s love dance for March auction
Published January 31st, 2006
One of the most recognisable images by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano looks set to fetch about £500,000 at auction.
His oil painting Dance Me To The End Of Love was carried into Edinburgh’s Harvey Nichols store on Friday ahead of a forthcoming public exhibition.
The painting in print form is one of the world’s best selling posters, but the original has rarely been seen.
The canvas was bought by a Scots art fan in 1998 and remained in the woman’s private collection until now.
The work will go on display at Harvey Nichols for three weeks from next week before going under the hammer at Shapes Auctioneers in the Scottish capital on Saturday, 4 March.
It has been valued at between £300,000 and £500,000.
