eBay food sales fail relevant hygiene and packaging laws

Trading standards officers are demanding tighter regulations for websites which sell food products after they found three quarters of food for sale on eBay fails relevant hygiene and packaging laws.

eBay hits back at Which Magazine

eBay has hit back at claims from consumer magazine Computing Which? that suggest the company should do more to protect its users from fraudsters.
The magazine has said eBay shows too little interest in identifying fraudsters among its user-base and supported that claim with figures from the Metropolitan Police.

Police are investigating an alleged scam in which household goods were stolen from a Bristol warehouse and sold from Devon via eBay.
Brabantia ironing boards, kitchen utensils and other goods valued at more than £10,000 and £5,000 in cash have been seized by police.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has paid £30,000 at a charity auction for a family tree drawn by author JK Rowling.

An historic landmark with no reserve price was sold at auction for £330,000.
The disused water tower called “Jumbo” in Colchester, Essex was auctioned with planning consent for a penthouse flat.

LITTLE-KNOWN maritime portraits by famous Edinburgh artist Sir Henry Raeburn have been saved for the nation after being bought by Historic Scotland.
