A date with George Michael and his boyfriend Kenny Goss prompted frenzied bidding at this year’s Lighthouse Gala Auction, which raises cash for Terrence Higgins Trust.

The date, which included dinner and a night of clubbing, was dominated by two unnamed women, who bid against each other for the night.

The final amount reached for the night with the pair was £10,000.

A Patrick Lichfield image his last signed work, was printed especially for Terrence Higgins Trust and went for £19,000.

Other successful lots included a walk on part in Nip/Tuck and a one-to-one swimming lesson with Mark Foster, which went for £2,000.

The auction raised more than £230,000 for THT, which offers support for HIV positive people.

“£230,000 is a fantastic amount which will go on our vital work, supporting people living with, and affected by HIV and AIDS,” Debbie Holmes, Director of Fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust said.
