Rare natural history books for wildlife charity auction
Published March 21st, 2006
A collection of rare natural history books will go under the hammer this week in Nottingham to raise funds for a local wildlife charity.
The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust hopes to raise at least £1,000 when it puts the books up for auction on Thursday, March 23.
The books, many containing colour prints, were donated to the charity as part of the legacy of Tim Bowles, a dedicated Trust supporter.
The Wildlife Trust’s membership manager, Emma Thompson, said: “We are very fortunate in Nottinghamshire to be surrounded by a large range of habitats which support many species.
“Leaving a legacy to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust helps protect the fragile places and threatened species we all love.”
The auction is taking place at 10am at Neales Fine Art Auctioneers, Nottingham. To view the online catalogue or for further details about the auction visit the Neales website at www.dnfa.com/nottingham or call 0115 962 4141.
The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is part of a nationwide network of local trusts. It manages 66 nature reserves across the county and advises local authorities, community groups and landowners on wildlife conservation issues.
