Glasgow Bid for a meal web site opens

Published March 22nd, 2006

A WEBSITE that allows diners to bid for meals at top restaurants from just 1p was launched yesterday.

Priceyourmeal.com , dreamed up by Glasgow entrepreneur Sukhvir Dhillon, works along the lines of eBay.

More than 50 restaurants in the Glasgow area have signed up to the website - believed to be the first of its kind in the world.

As on eBay, diners can bid from a low price or “Buy It Now”.

Meals are paid using the Pay Pal system or by credit card.

Sukhvir said: “I’m hoping my fellow Glaswegians will find the website a big help in planning their nights out.

“I then plan to start offering similar deals across Scotland and the rest of the UK.”

The Harlequin Group, who own several Indian restaurants, have signed up.

Boss Sanjay Majhu said: “We think it’s a great idea. We want to support Sukhvir all the way.”
