iSold auction stores opening in UK

AN American franchise that helps people to sell goods online through auction sites such as eBay is being launched in Britain this week.
The iSold It chain has about 800 outlets in America. Customers drop off items they want to sell, which are then valued, photographed and put on the website. When the items sell, they are shipped to the buyer with the franchisee taking a commission.
A UK version will be unveiled this week at the British & International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia in west London.
Managing director Phillip Molloy says the growing popularity of eBay means there is the potential for about 300 iSold It stores in Britain.
Initial investment costs would be about GBP100,000 to GBP150,000, with the franchisor - based in Redditch, Worcestershire - providing training and help in locating and setting up sites.
