Property on eBay UK

Published April 23rd, 2006

In the UK, the recent dip in the housing market has seen increasingly desperate property-owners putting their houses up for sale on the internet auction site. Around 70 per cent of properties are now advertised on-line, but few potential buyers have made the transition to online auctions - put off, perhaps, by the unreliability of descriptions (eBay is not covered by guidelines set out by the National Association of Estate Agents).

While it is advisable to visit and survey any property before bidding, there appear to be some great bargains on eBay, such as the three-bedroomed semi in Grantham, Lincolnshire, on offer for just more than £107,000.
