H&H Buxton Classic Car Auction
Published April 26th, 2006
H&H’S automobilia sale of April 11 at Buxton was especially well attended and achieved very impressive results, with the vast majority of the lots finding new homes.
Of particular note were the battery-powered Bugatti child’s car that made over £1,900, the pre-war Exide showroom lightbox that fetched nearly £1,700, the Minerva 8-litre bonnet mascot that was knocked down for £1,350 and a box of assorted dashboard instruments that drew nearly £800 against an estimate of £40-60 – an increase of nearly 2000%!
Pre-war and racing photos were especially fought over, with many making 10 to 20% more than expected.
The next H&H car and automobilia sale will take place at Syon Park, London on May 24, while the next motorcycle and bicycle auction will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham on June 24/25.
