UK criminals using online auctions to sell fake goods

Criminals producing counterfeit goods are increasingly turning to online auctions to sell fake goods, a report from the Patent Office shows.

The report, which investigates the extent of intellectual property crime in the UK, reveals that the internet has become a major avenue for the counterfeit trade of pirate software and illegal copies of the latest DVDs, especially through online auction sites.
