Jim Morrison’s last ever notebook is up for auction
Published July 5th, 2006
“The highly in demand final scribblings of iconic singer/songwriter Jim Morrison will go up for auction later this month, and is expected to fetch £100,000. For fans and followers of Jim though, this kind of personal item with handwritten notes is priceless.
The book contains the final thoughts and musings of the Doors singer, and goes under the hammer at Cooper Owen’s Music Legends sale at Abbey Road Studios on July 28 from 5pm. Poems, lyrics and scribblings (both revamped takes on older powems such as, The Hitchhiker and unseen notes and poems fill the books 20 pages. The handwritten notebook also includes one of the last photographs ever taken of him as he looks out of the Parisienne apartment where he sadly died of a suspected heart attack on July 3 1971.
Lead singer of one of the most innovative and magical bands to exist, The Doors’ Jim Morrison had a slightly dark yet very mellow vision, but he was a genius lyric writer, poet, dude, full with drink and angst, who wrote magnificent songs to inspire or get mellow to.”
