Bonhams no reserve sale back by popular demand

Published July 31st, 2006

With sale season in full fling, bargains are to be found at Bonhams Knightsbridge on 16 August when an entire sale of pictures and frames will be offered with no reserve. This will be the third such sale to be held at the Knightsbridge salerooms in Montpelier Street, SW1.

James Mackie, Head of Bonhams’ Pictures department at Knightsbridge, said: “Our previous two no-reserve sales were overwhelmingly successful with over 1,500 commission bids left before last summer’s sale and the room was packed with people – many of them local residents. Prices ranged from £1 to £5,000 with many lots selling for under £100. The excitement of being able to buy art at such low prices holds enormous appeal.”

This year’s sale will offer pictures dating from the 17th to the 21st centuries in a variety of mediums - oil and watercolour paintings, prints, drawings and photographs.
