Uri Geller sues over failed Elvis Presley house auction

Spoon-bender Uri Geller is suing the former owners of Elvis Presley’s first house, claiming they breached an eBay contract to sell him and two partners the home.

The British celebrity psychic and his partners say their $905,100 (€700,000) offer was the highest bid in the online auction in May.

Afterwards, they made changes to the real estate contract, giving owners Cindy Hazen and Mike Freeman 60 days to move from the property in Memphis, Tennessee.

Ms Hazen and Mr Freeman then decided to sell the house to Nashville record producer Mike Curb for a million dollars (€773,000) instead.

Geller’s lawsuit claims that broke their contract and asks for a jury trial to rescind the sale. The former owners, who are now divorced, say the contract had not been finalised.

“At the end of two weeks, we still did not have an agreement on possession or a closing date,” Ms Hazen told Memphis newspaper the Commercial Appeal.
