Two Pcs were arrested yesterday for allegedly selling police clothing and equipment on eBay.
The suspects, a man of 32 and a 27-year-old woman, are now being quizzed by professional standards officers.
Police swooped on the home the Pcs share and took away computers and other items which were allegedly offered for sale.
A small quantity of cannabis was also said to have been found in the house Pontypridd, South Wales. The un-named pair have been suspended by South Wales Police pending an investigation.
A force insider said: “It is a serious matter - all officers are warned that police clothing should never be sold or even given away because it can get in the wrong hands.
“They were using nicknames to trade on eBay so it took a lot of detective work to trace them.”
