Online payment provider PayPal is advising consumers to take care when choosing how to send their money abroad.

According to new research from the company, many consumers could be spending more of their savings than they should be when sending money internationally.

PayPal indicates that in some cases customers are spending up to four times more than they should be.

Geoff Iddison, chief executive of PayPal.co.uk, says: “When you are sending money overseas it is normally for a good reason and you don’t want to be hit with high rates.
