A outdoor toilet in Cornwall with an amazing view has sold at auction for £25,000.

The public toilet, on National Trust property and within a World Heritage Site, was sold at London auctioneers Colliers CRE to an anonymous bidder.

It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the west Cornwall coast at Rosemergy, Morvah, near St Ives and was sold as land for development by Penwith District Council.

The granite, flat-roofed building sits in a rural location next to a car park in 0.2 acres of land.

The guide price for the lot was £35,000, but despite being sold for less than that Colliers said it was pleased with the sale.

Richard Argles of Colliers CRE said: “We are delighted with the sale, this is one of the most attractive places to go in Cornwall.”
