Ex Royal Yacht Brittania speedboat on eBay

A vintage Albatross speed boat, carried on the former Royal Yacht Brittannia and said to have been used by Princess Diana, is being auctioned on eBay.
According to the eBay entry, the fast runabout was presented to HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1956, by Albatross MD Bruce Campbell for waterskiing. It was carried on HMY Brittania, until 1967, then used at Balmoral, until 1987, when it was sold to the present owner.
The boat, which is still in the original Britannia Colours, was built by Albatross Marine, in Great Yarmouth, and has a step less planning hull and fittings of rivetted Birmabright alloy. The engine is a modified Ford 100E, giving the 12 ft 9 ins boat a top speed of over 30 knots, according to the announcement.
It is said to be in original condition and sold with detailed documentation, including a handbook titled “The property of H.R.H the Duke of Edinburgh - Balmoral Castle, and a newspaper article.
