Syd Barrett paintings make thousands

Ten paintings by Pink Floyd founder member Syd Barrett have raised more than £55,000 at auction.
A stool decorated by Barrett fetched £4,400, and a collection of his art reference books a further £4,000.
The paintings were among the contents of Barrett’s home in Cambridge being auctioned following his death in July at the age of 60.
The sale of 77 items raised more than £119,000. Barrett’s two bicycles fetched more than £10,000 in total.
An abstract painting by Barrett fetched £6,000, while a landscape called Cambridgeshire fetched £3,800 at the sale in Cambridge.
