Footballer in court over eBay stun gun

Kingston footballer Mazin Ahmad has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service after he admitted buying an illegal stun gun on eBay.
Ahmad, who was sentenced on Thursday, December 28, bought the Black Cobra stun pen from the US on the online auction site in May, but the parcel - labelled as a $3.99 flashlight - was intercepted by customs officers.
Kingston Police staged a delivery of the item to the family home in Bowness Crescent in August.
When the housekeeper took delivery of the item, police officers swooped to arrest Ahmad. The footballer claimed he thought it was a toy, then said he had bought the stun gun by accident but could not reverse the transaction.
But Mr Ahmad had sent emails asking when the weapon would be delivered, and the seller warned him that it was necessary to lie to get the parcel through customs. Magistrates said they did not believe he was unaware of an offence.
