Corus Steel auction starts
Published January 30th, 2007
The battle for Britain’s Corus kicks off later today when steel giants Tata and CSN take their positions at the starting block of an 8-round auction set to begin at 4.30pm.
Sources close to the process say Tata, which currently has the lowest bid of 500p on the table, is poised to bid first and will be given an hour to raise its offer above CSN’s agreed 515p deal or walk away.
