Published February 26th, 2007

Plates F1 FAN and F1 NUT together sold for more than £70,000 at an auction held by DVLA at the RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre near Wantage, Oxfordshire

The star lot was F1 PRO which sold to Birmingham-based businessman Stuart Ross for £10,200. Mr Ross will put the plate on his Ferrari F40 supercar.

F1 MAD went to Michael Andrew Drury - the owner of a business supplying specialist equipment to motorsport teams on the Grand Prix circuit, for £6,000.

And Raj Dhuna of Hayes in Middlesex bought four plates - F1 NUT, F1 FAN, F1 ACE and F1 GPX. He will put the plates on Ferraris owned by his performance vehicle hire business.

Damian Lawson, Marketing Manager for DVLA Personalised Registrations said, “The F1 plates stole the show today but we have lots of interesting plates to come over the next two days including OO07 SPY and MY55 AMG.”
