Evening News 24 Would-be entrepreneurs have been given the chance to learn tips on selling goods on an online auction site which could see hopefuls trade their day jobs for an internet empire.

Internet surfers can join the Ebay revolution at a one-day workshop at the Norwich Arts Centre later this month.

The St Benedict’s venue is running a four-week beginners’ guide to trading on Ebay, which was set up about a year ago after Norwich was named the Ebay capital of the UK with almost two-thirds of people in the city registered on the site.

But now visitors to the centre can find out more about how to navigate the site and become a more successful seller in just one day.

Jan Robertson, from the Norwich Arts Centre, said: “There are a lot of people who want to use the internet for selling goods or work they’ve created. Following on from that the tutor of the beginners’ course has developed a course for people who might be strapped for time to give them a quick run-down on tips for selling.

“While Ebay can’t make you a millionaire overnight, it certainly does have the potential to create an income for any creative entrepreneur.

“Selling on Ebay can be a minefield to navigate on your own. On this intensive one-day course, you’ll learn how to unlock Ebay’s secrets to conduct market research, build up sales, speed up the listing process and open an Ebay Shop.”
