Skype to allow money transfers through eBay PayPal

Skype is owned by eBay and the Skype users are soon going to get a facility which would allow them to transfer the money to their buddies through PayPal which is also owned by the ecommerce giant.

Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom said in a statement that they are currently working with PayPal. However, it would still take some time before this facility is launched as he declined to reveal a timeline.

PayPal continues to remain the most popular mode of payment for Skype users to get paid for facilities on the VoIP service like making long-distance Skype phone calls to other phones.

Zennstrom said in his statement: “You can send money over Skype. This is basically connecting the Skype community over PayPal. All the user needs is a PayPal account.”

The VoIP service currently has more than 171 million registered users.
