A giant pike which was caught in Norfolk in 1956 and mounted by J Cooper and Sons of Hounslow will go under the hammer this summer.

The fish is expected to fetch up to £6,000 at an auction in Henley, auctioneers Bonhams said.

It weighs 30lb and measures 4ft in length.

According to Bonhams, the pike was caught at Hickling Broad by Hertfordshire angler Donald Tate.

Bonhams, founded in 1793, is the world’s oldest and largest auctioneer of fine art and antiques remaining with British ownership.
