Ataturk autograph notes sold at London auction

Autograph notes by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey, illustrating the spelling of words according to Turkish pronunciation in the New Turkish script were sold for over $7,700 to an anonymous collector at Christie’s Auction House in London on Wednesday.
“Atatürk sent his notes to Swiss anthropologist Dr. Eugène Pittard, who wrote several books on Turkey. Pittard suggested the spelling of various words according to the rules of Turkish pronunciation,†an auction catalog of Christie’s said.
