Whitehaven mum jailed for ebay scam

Published August 10th, 2007

A YOUNG mum from Whitehaven who conned eight people out of £2,400 for concert tickets, through internet auction site Ebay, has been jailed.

Haley McTaggart, 24, sold the tickets under the username Foxymax, offering bidders the chance to see several pop stars, including Robbie Williams but she never had the tickets.

McTaggart was sentenced to three months for each deception and three months for the attempted deception, with two of the offences to run consecutively, so that she serves six months.

She was also ordered to pay full compensation when she is released.

A total of £2,445 had been credited to her account but customers never received anything.
