A rare Broons annual signed by the artist is expected to sell for thousands of pounds at auction.
The 1959 book, which is to be sold in St Andrews, was given as a birthday present by Dudley D. Watkins, who wrote a personal message in the front sleeve.
There was also an original drawing of Oor Wullie, another of the famous cartoon characters penned by Watkins.
The auctioneer said the book had previously been sold at a car boot sale for a few pence.
The book, from Dundee publishers D C Thomson, was expected to fetch a four-figure sum at the sale.
Auctioneer Sandra Urie said collectors from many parts of the country were expected to attend.
She added: “I understand that the book was purchased some years ago at a car boot sale.
