Hastings Museum and Art Gallery will display three special posters after successfully bidding for them at a Christies auction last week.

The 1950s designs advertising Hastings & St Leonards as a holiday destination were brought for a total of £1,780 and will take pride of place at the gallery in Johns Place, off Bohemia Road, later this year.

Council leader councillor Peter Pragnell said: “These posters are great and really demonstrate how important our tourism trade has been to us over the decades. We were very glad to have been successful in the bid and grateful to the Went Tree Trust for funding to buy them.
