Lyon & Turnbull to auction Deloitte contemporary art collection

Lyon & Turnbull, the Edinburgh auctioneers, has been commissioned to sell the extensive contemporary art collection of the accountants Deloitte in London next year.
Lyon & Turnbull will put the collection of more than 450 paintings and prints under the hammer in the Royal Academy’s Burlington Gardens building on 10 January.
Among the works to be auctioned include pieces by Barbara Hepworth, Bridget Riley, David Hockney and Gilbert and George. The collection is expected to achieve more that £1 million.
Lyon & Turnbull’s managing director and head of paintings, Nick Curnow, said: “This will be one of the most extensive art collections to appear on the auction market in recent years. The Deloitte Art Collection has great strength and depth due to its acquisition of the former Arthur Andersen Art Collection in 2002, which was one of the first corporate art collections to be formed in the United Kingdom”.
