Hopes of Wigton, who are known for their livestock sales, are confident the sale will be a sucess and expect to hold two marine sales per year in the future.

The auction mart, which usualy deals with cattle and sheep, will take on a nautical theme on the day.

There will be items of interest for everyone with windsurfing kit, yachts, dinghies, fishing boats, outboard engines, anchors and wet suits.

The sale starts at 1pm on Monday, October 29.
