The spotlight will be on Argentinean racing history next week as two of the country’s most celebrated national treasures cross the auction block in London, England.

The legendary Ernesto Blanco’s multiple championship winning 1931 Reo Racing Car – his weapon of choice for more than 22 years – and the six time consecutive 1,500cc world championship winning 1947 Cistalia 202 SMM, will headline the esteemed Abraham “Abba” Kogan Collection, to be offered at RM Auctions’ inaugural “Automobiles of London” event on October 31. RM Auctions will present the sale in association with Sotheby’s at Battersea Park, Central London.

“The Abraham Kogan Collection comprises of some of the most fascinating engineering masterpieces of the motorsports world,” said RM’s cofounder Mike Fairbairn.

“The 1931 Reo Racing Car is arguably one of the jewels of the collection, and one which we are certainly honoured and excited to be offering at our London sale.

“This car was the tool motorsports legend Ernesto Blanco used to earn the undying admiration of the Argentinean people – and as such, has tremendous historical appeal and value,” he added.

Next week’s “Automobiles of London” event marks RM Auctions second European sale following their record-breaking Ferrari auction in Maranello, Italy earlier this year. In addition to an impressive range of automobiles from the Abraham Kogan Collection, the event will also present a range of magnificent classics, sports and racing cars from the collections of Formula One impresario, Bernie Ecclestone and Italian businessman Giuseppe Prevosti, as well as a number of other private consignments.
