Faberge Egg at Christies

On Wednesday, Christies will auction a newly discovered Faberge egg, tipped to fetch up to nine million pounds.
Faberge, a Russian jeweller whose name is synonymous with extravagant craftsmanship, made 50 eggs for the Russian royal family but is only known to have created 12 eggs to similar standards for private clients.

Blackburn Rovers FA cup final programme fetches 920 pounds at London auction

Before the sale, at Graham Budd Auctions, at Sotheby’s Olympia, experts accurately predicted the programme, for the 1928 Blackburn versus Huddersfield FA Cup final, would sell for between £800 and £1,000.
In the end it fetched £920. The buyer successfully bid £800, there is also an extra £120 to the auctioneers in buyers’ premium.

A small, uninhabited town in Texas has been sold on the internet auction site, eBay, to a buyer in Italy for a little over £1.45m.
