Tom Dascombe to auction colt for Manchester charity

Published December 11th, 2007

The Lambourn trainer is putting up the ‘ownership’ of a three-year-old colt in his care next season at an auction tonight. It is in aid of a project that takes feral youths off the streets of Wythenshawe, in Manchester. (See Jonny Beardsall’s article in last Saturday’s Telegraph Magazine).

The auction is at a white collar boxing evening at Porchester Hall, Bayswater between the Real Fight Club, London and Gleason’s Gym, New York. The night is raising funds for United Estates of Wythenshawe’s project to add a boxing gym to a chapel, which they have already converted into a community centre.

The man wielding the gavel is Brightwells’ auctioneer Andrew Elliott and anyone wishing to submit an early bid for any of the above should ring him today on 07778 110837.
