eBay and Kyozou Explore High-Volume Seller Opportunities

Good news may be right around the corner for high-volume, low-price eBay sellers.
Toronto’s Kyozou Inc. recently opened a dialogue with eBay representatives - including top seller account managers - about exploring the possibility of creating a joint offering that would specifically cater to these kinds of eBay businesses.
“It’s been a real ‘Ghost in the Machine’ for these merchants,” said Kyozou’s Director of Marketing and Partner Relations, Thierry Nihill. “I know it’s been frustrating for those that have wanted to automate their sales process - but haven’t been able to fit into any kind of available and affordable program.”
“We’ve had so many requests to establish some kind of offering that would be cost effective for all high-volume sellers, not to mention acceptable to eBay - but we just hadn’t been able to make the numbers work for everyone concerned.”
Those recent discussions with eBay representatives gave Kyozou some hope, though. “I give eBay all the credit in the world for coming to our table with these sellers,” Thierry said. “There’s a perception out there that eBay doesn’t seem to care much about its merchant community. Actually taking the time to sit down with Kyozou, on conference calls with some high-volume sellers and their account managers, is a real positive step forward. We’ve already received some excellent ideas about how to implement a cost-effective, profitable system for these merchants. That’s far from the usual perception about eBay - and we’re quite happy to help eBay arrive at an excellent solution for this large market segment if we can. I think eBay is to be commended for taking this initiative and inviting Kyozou to be a part of it.”
The kind of merchant that would benefit from some kind of joint program would include those that sell baseball, ice hockey, basketball or football bubblegum cards. There is also a growing market for buyers in purchasing and trading game cards (such as the “Magic” series). Certain sports memorabilia sellers would also benefit from such a program, and there are obvious benefits for those merchants that also sell large lots of DVD’s, software or electronic games.
The joint offering would have to include some kind of a volume selling discount, according to Kyozou, “but it’s difficult to design a single program that will benefit everyone,” Thierry said. “I’d really like to invite some of these sellers to get in touch with us and let us know what they would like to see in the way of an offering.”
“There’s no better way to design a new program than by getting the input from the customers themselves. If high-volume sellers have an idea that they’d like to share that will benefit everyone in their merchant class, Kyozou is certainly welcoming of their thoughts and ideas,” Thierry said.
