Kivells Auctioneers Report Increased Livestock Sales
Published January 25th, 2008
Kivells report an increase in business of just over 20 per cent at their three livestock markets in Devon and Cornwall during 2007.
Despite foot-and-mouth and the markets being either closed or running under government restrictions, Kivells says there was an increase in selling at their centres at Holsworthy, Liskeard and Hallworthy.
Partner and auctioneer David Kivell said: “We have seen a really busy year in 2007, with the re-introduction of auction sales of cull cows together with a marked increase in our cattle rings which, in turn, have seen more buyers prepared to travel to our markets to purchase stock.’’
Kivells also report an increase of 16.25 per cent for on-farm sales in 2007.
