Military Gallantry Medals for Tennants Auction

The gallantry medals of Brigadier G.W.B. Tarleton, CBE, DSO, MC with Bar are to be sold by Tennants Auctioneers in their specialist Arms, Armour and Militaria Sale to be held on Friday 29th February 2008 in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.

15088-1-0.jpgBrigadier Tarleton’s decorations comprise Commander of the British Empire (1945), Distinguished Service Order (immediate award Sicily), Military Cross with Bar, 1914 Star, British War Medal, the Victory Medal with M.I.D., Indian General Service Medal with the Bar Waziristan (MID), a 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star (1945), 1939-45 War Medal with M.I.D., the Order of the White Eagle of Serbia, the USA Bronze Star and the Belgium Red Cross Medal First Class (1945). This outstanding group of medals has an estimate of £5,000-£6,000.
