Silver Quaich at Lyon & Turnbull Scottish Silver Auction

Published February 13th, 2008

A silver quaich could make £15,000 when it goes under the hammer at Lyon & Turnbull in Edinburgh.

The auctioneers are hoping the unique 18th century piece of silverware attracts interest among collectors when it is sold at their Broughton Street auction house.

The quaich, which was made by master silversmith Hugh Ross II around 1740, is among the rarest items of Tain silver still in existence.
