Auctioneers Drewery and Wheeldon are auctioning off 160 Steiff animals, bears and toys worth over £25,000 at their Trinity Street auction rooms next Thursday.

Karen Taylor, who is handlingthe sale for Drewery and Wheeldon, said the sale was very unusual for the Gainsborough auctioneers.

“Steiff are a very famous brand in the world of bear collectors. They are the creme-de-la-creme of teddy bears and they are very expensive.”If you were going to buy a teddy bear, this is the bear you would want.”To have 160 of them is quite remarkable.

The Trinity Street Sale Rooms hold regular furniture auctions throughout the year.
